The Awards, Grants and Projects Committee
is mandated to administer all of the bursary, scholarships, awards
and projects undertaken by the Executive of the Federation. On their
behalf, the Committee administers, sets criteria, and recommends
candidates for such programs as the Award of Excellence, the PEITF
Scholarships for students, the PEITF Centennial Scholarships for
teachers taking leaves to study; the PEITF Bursary Program; and
Project Overseas.
Committee Members,
Kent Avery (Chairperson), Kim Williams, Eva Arsenault and
Andrew Hughes take the selection processes and criteria that are
established for the various awards and scholarship programs very
seriously. The Committee follows the criteria precisely and considers every application or
nomination submitted.
It is important for all applicants to complete the appropriate application forms
in full and respect the timelines established for each particular
award, scholarship, or bursary. It is very unfortunate when people
are disqualified due to incomplete applications or, when
applications are received
after respective deadlines.
Any teacher interested in finding out more
about the various awards, scholarships, and bursary programs should
check the Incentives Poster on the Federation bulletin board in your
schools, check the Federation website at www.peitf.com
or contact Bob MacRae at Federation House, 569-4157 or toll-free
